GROUNDHOGS ASIDE.....CAN IT BE SPRING NOW?

My eyes lit up this morning when I came upon a photo of French macaroons....the colors were such a welcome change from the monochromatic tones of winter that have plagued us for the last few months....and it made me long for Spring.  The calendar says it's Spring and some furry little rodent in Pennsylvania may say it's Spring, but until the streets are awash in colorful twin sets and sheath dresses I won't believe it.

I've never been a pastel or sorbet color kind of girl where my wardrobe is concerned.  More than likely the last time I wore the former was over two decades ago when I was a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding.  The dress was pink and my mother was caught on video numerous times saying we were all "pretty in pink".  My wardrobe these days looks more like a black hole, but that doesn't mean I don't adore the colors of Easter eggs, flowering trees, and the most perfectly broken in denim shirt.  For the record....I do wear denim.

As a designer, however, this is a classically fresh color palette whether used as solids or paired with white in seersuckers or plaids.  They reflect the blooms that pop up everywhere and clear skies above.  They are refreshing, uplifting, and flattering.

So please, please, please bring on Spring!
